Statement of U.S. Rep. Kendrick B. Meek (D-FL) Regarding the Visit Today by Members of the Congressional Black Caucus to Cuba

 

MIAMI GARDENS, FL – Congressman Kendrick Meek released the following statement regarding the visit today by members of the Congressional Black Caucus to Cuba:
"Political prisoners jailed in Cuba are held for peacefully expressing their rights and freedoms like Dr. Oscar Biscet and Antunez. The Cuban spies held in U.S. federal prisons were a threat to our national security. That is the difference between night and day, and between Cuba and the United States."
 

U.S. Rep. Kendrick B. Meek represents the 17^th Congressional District of Florida which includes parts of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. He serves as the lone Florida Democrat sitting on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
