Media Advisory: U.S. Rep. Kendrick B. Meek to Testify Before Judiciary Committee on Bill to Ban Trade and Import of Dangerous Foreign Pythons on Thursday
WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Congressman Kendrick B. Meek will testify before the Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security of the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday, November 5, 2009 at 12:00 noon on his legislation, H.R. 2811, which would move to ban the trade and import of three types of invasive species – Burmese, Northern African Rock, and Southern African Rock Pythons. The hearing will take place in the Rayburn House Office Building Room 2141.
U.S. Rep. Kendrick B. Meek represents the 17th Congressional District of Florida which includes parts of Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. He serves as the lone Florida Democrat sitting on the House Committee on Ways and Means.
